Beginnings

When Masey and Maryka started creating candles and oil reeds for the home, Maryka had a severe spinal injury, which put her out of action for an extended period of time. It was over the recovery period Maryka realised that the Universe was trying to steer her in a direction which closely resonated with her mystical practices.

“It feels as though I have done a full circle, my mum was an alchemist and taught me in my childhood years to make skincare and she also taught me about essential oils, herbs, correct blending and how to align myself with nature. She was my inspiration for starting meditation, qigong and understanding the importance of tribal medicine, which has been used by tribal doctors for thousands of years. She always told me that, “for every illness, there is a plant or compound in nature that can be used for healing.””. (Maryka Malano)

During Maryka’s recovery from surgery, she did a lot of meditation and reverted back to the practices her mother had taught her. Maryka felt that the drugs were creating toxicity within her body and did not feel healthy or vibrant. Masey and Maryka discussed Maryka’s mother and had an inspiring idea to create products that complement the candles and oils that they were already making.

So, began the process of Maryka going through her notes and books of her Mother’s which she had kept from many years past. Masey and Maryka began planning a list of products they felt were important to release, which would become Malano’s ‘Signature Range’. They then began to work on other ideas and projects to expand upon into the future.

This planning phase took around 2 years, in that time, Malano signed up for special training in a large organisation in NSW to learn the correct processes, procedures and legal requirements for manufacturing products in the skincare, beauty and homewares industry.

Over the research period, Malano sourced reputable companies for ingredients that were certified organic, animal cruelty free, fair trade and sustainable. The decision was made from the beginning that Malano would only release products that are high end, align with the businesses core beliefs and value's, and, sell them at a fair price.

After a period of time, the products were tested with willing humans. Maryka and Masey were totally delighted by all of the wonderful feedback and positive results their participants were achieving.

Malano were accepted into one of Australia’s most lucrative markets, Salamanca where they officially launched into the public arena, July of 2019. Malano continue to trade there every Saturday.

Malano continues to expand upon their range, having all of the necessary products independently lab tested in Queensland, to ensure that you are buying a safe product.

Malano have a range of leading products that clinical trials will be run on in 2024/25 in order to obtain a license through the TGA (Therapeutics Goods Administration).

Malano harness the power of nature through fusing science and mysticism and bring products to you which have been created by inspiration through meditative practice.
